The PARTY OF ONE (SPECIALLY DESIGNED FOR THE WRITERS, ARTISTS, SINGERS, ETC.)

Attention:  This post is for any entertainer, writer, singer/songwriter, actor, artist, cook, designer, craftsmen or woman, Preachers and Pastors...anyone giving their world their gift.

I got one question for you...how HIGH you wanna go with your gift?
Pic credit: www.bankonyourself.com

God convicted of me the other day and again this morning.  The reason being is that I keep speaking NY Times Bestseller's list over my life and my affirmations, but I am forgetting the most important audience.  The one I was created, crafted, and designed to speak too...

The party of ONE.

One would assume that I'm talking about God when I say the party of one, but not neccessarily .  Of course, all praises and honor goes to God.  It was HIS creation of you that blessed you with that incredible gift that you have.  GOD is always Number #1.  This time though I kept feeling the tug on my heart and in my spirit about the one that may be sitting way up in the rafters to see you and can barely hear your voice.   The one that so desperately hangs on to what you say, how you act, or what you do because their "aha" is going to manifest through you.

Did yall hear that?

The Author
That is something that you or me can't take lightly.  The people we serve whether it be and audience of one or a million and one, they are the ones we do this for. I would love to hit the NY Times Bestseller's list, but when I think about the woman that I will meet at my book signing, and she comes to me in tears to sign her book.  My concern will deepen, and then she will reveal to me that my book changed her life.  She thought she had no purpose in life, but my book helped her live life again.  That one.  She is that one I'm doing this for.

The Artist
Imagine you created the most beautiful paintings from the depths of your soul.  You would love to go mainstream and have your own gallery one day, but you don't want to alter who you really are in order to go mainstream.  You drop off your painting to a local business owner who has purchased from you before.  He doesn't pay you what the painting could really be worth, but you just want to get your name out there.  After he hands you the check this time he stops you in your tracks.  He reveals he just went through a painful divorce and custody case, but your paintings bring him joy.  They remind him of the beauty of his girls.  That's it.  Your party of one...

The Singer
Imagine you are singing at a local festival.  Your band getting on your nerves.  You all mad because you are not headlining or doing your own tour.   Your dream is to be a mainstream star.  Either way, you get on that stage and yall rock it.  You finish your set, and walk off stage wiping the sweat from your forehead.  You think it may not have been what you had in mind, but the energy of the crowd, just confirmed how much you really love what you do.  There is one couple running towards you with tears in their eyes.  Security tries to stop them, but they beg to see you.  You grant them access, and they testify how your music has saved their marriage.  They tell you to keep doing what you do because it's bringing true love back.  That it.  That's your party of one...or two. :)  Side Bar: I personally love underground music more than mainstream any day.  I love real lyrics with meaning.  I love the days of old and new that speaks in whatever form of truth the artist brings.

The Actor
Imagine you are in a stage play.  You all mad because you can get the bigger gigs and roles.  You still are professional and deliver the gift.  At the end of the play when you are doing autographs a woman comes up to you.  She explains, "I had thoughts of suicide, but your performance changed all that.  I decided I want to live." You are in shock and embarrassed, because you almost didn't take the gig.    Your party of one is who you do this for.

The Cook
Your dream would be to have a catering company that services celebrities.  You love to cook.  It's your heartbeat.  It comes from your soul and works through your hands.  Your best friend just had a baby, so you take a cake by there to make her smile.  One that is specially made for her at no charge.  The joy is so obvious when you all share a piece with a cup of coffee.   After some convo, she reveals that she needed that sweet treat today.  She was having a difficult time enjoying their newborn because they had a miscarriage before that one.  You didn't even know she went through that.  She was just feeling all kinds of emotions, but your cake and company warmed her heart with joy again.  That's it.  That's your party of one.

I could go on and on about how GOD can use us to serve others.  You never know who you will impact.  But if you don't try from the small beginnings, and serve with joy, you may never know.

I still have a dream to be on that famous bestselling list, but I can tell it's altering my gift.  I typed 10 pages last week for my new book.  I was so focused on wording it right so I can "brand" it widely that I lost the focus of my one.  I can always tell when it's my flesh talking and when my gift is talking. :)  The gift flows naturally without you even trying hard.  The flesh you have to "think" to much, keep changing and changing to get it just right to appeal to everybody.

We are not called to everybody.  We are all uniquely designed, and crafted to speak to who God designed for us to appeal to.  I'm learning that the hard way through years of practice.  As I have jumped from one genre to another to keep up with the "trends."  You alter your gift so you can appeal to your social media followings and gather more of them.  Putting down the very thing that made you gifted in the first place...that heart...that soul..of the gift.

Serve the one.  If you blow up and get your NY Times list, Grammy, Oscar, or Tony awards then that is just some sweet icing on the cake!  Don't stray away from the real you.  Don't sell your soul out to make that money like that.

Don't treat your gift like it owes you instead of you giving it away like the gift that it is.  I'm learning that the hard way on a lower level than most, but it still has a sting to me no matter how much I got now.  :)

36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Mark 8:36 KJV
ACTION STEPS
1.  Stay true to who you are.  Your gift and the people you assigned to deserves it!  I know it's easier said than done because we want that grand prize for our hard work.  We want to get money.  We want to appeal to a massive audience and have the largest social followings.  We want to get paid handsomely for doing what we do.  I get that.  I so get that.   It's nothing wrong with that.  We just can't forget that we are here to serve our one in whatever capacity we are in at the moment.  Don't gather a flock only to give them the shallow part of your gift.

Did this blog post bless you today?  Why don't you share it with others.  It may help them too!  Have you noticed that you are focusing too much on the grand prize and not the people you are called to serve?  Let me know in the comments.

Who You Love is Who You Obey..? (The Obedience Test)

What a strong statement.  You think about all the people you love.  Do you obey them all the time?  Is it about dominion of one person over the other.  I'm instantly drawn to and perhaps even more convicted to say that I have been obeying the wrong people.

It's time to start up this fire of obedience...

I was watching the powerful testimony of Dr. Mary Neal's life and loss on the OWN show, "In Deep Shift" with Jonas Elrod.  Powerful and intriguing I must say.  I couldn't take my eyes off her incredible journey of experience death, Heaven, and back to Earth, and experiencing heartbreaking loss of one of her sons.  She said while she was in Heaven that God gave her a mandate to share her story with the world, so it wasn't her time for Heaven then.

Dr. Neal came back and lived her life, until years down she was awakened by God rising her out of her bed to say "Now."

How many times does God have to show you over and over again in order for you to do what you were created here to do?

I felt CONVICTED in that moment.  What am I denying each and every day?  What has God shown me through trials and tribulations, or "aha" moments that I am totally denying?  What is is that God has revealed to me in my Spirit, the depths of my heart, the knowing of my soul that I am called to do that I KEEP denying?

You just keep letting the days go by that add up to the months and then to the years.

Writing a book is the first thing that comes to mind.  A New York Times Bestselling Book I may add.  It just seems so ridiculous.  I seem unqualified.  I feel simple minded at times without the correct or grammar to pull off a full length book and let alone dream a dream of New York Times Best Seller.

I keep pushing the mandate down, but it keeps piercing me like a thorn in my side-even when I switch over and try to operate life from the other side...whew! I am feeling this word right now.  Can you feel it?

Who gave me the right to even think that could be done.  So, I keep denying it.

Who gave you the right to think you could be a Mother or a Wife?  Who gave you the right to think you could be a college graduate?  Who gave you the right to think you could go further than your past?  Who gave you the right to think you even qualify for any of it...or worse deserve it?

GOD gave you your God-given birthright before you even saw the light of day of the world.  No one can change that...not even you.

I am about to share with you the most Powerful Bible Verse that you have to take with you if you are fighting with living out your calling, assignment, purpose, or mandate.
Write this one down!

For what if some did not believe?  shall their unbelief make the faith of of God without effect.
Romans 3:3 KJV
When I first discovered that verse some time back, it blew me away.  Because you are always depending on others unconsciously or subconsciously to validate you.  You want someone to cheer you on to let you know that you are going the right way.   God uses people and relationships to speak to us, no doubt, but if they didn't believe what God is revealing to you, who do you obey?

You believe God.

You believe.   Because if you read down to the next verse it says...

God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar Romans 3:4

God won't be a liar.  He can't be!

Don't deny what God has over your life.  It doesn't matter if it's on stage or behind the scenes.  It doesn't matter if it's big or small.  It's about doing you...what you are called and purposed in this Earth to do.

When you roll with God, OBEDIENCE is the Ultimate mandate that we all must honor.  I mean if we really going to do this.  If we really want to see the windows of Heaven open up.  To God, obedience is right up there with faith and wisdom.

ACTION STEPS:
1.  Ask God to reveal your assignment.  Ask God to make it plain to you so you won't miss it.
2.  When God reveals to you what's already on the inside of you (your assignment), submit to it.  Submission is a process.  But it takes you right on into your promised land that God promised for you!
3.  If you are afraid or feeling inadequate ask God to give you Courage.  It takes courage to step into the unknown.  It takes courage to take steps toward something you can't even see yet.  As I venture off more into writing, and taking it more seriously, I honestly can tell you how much freedom is in being that authentic self.
4.  Read all of Romans Chapter 3 & 4.  It may only take 20-30 min. but powerful.

What are you called to do?  Are you still trying to figure it out?  Get some alone time with God and just watch what happens. :)

Sift the Wheat, Sift the Flour (Your Journey to Greatness!)

Sift the Wheat, Sift the Flour (Your Journey to Greatness!)

Yesterday, the Holy Spirit kept speaking the Words "Sifting Wheat."  I also became curious to why my Mom and Great Aunt would sift flour for the
things they were baking.  I'm like ok, what does that mean. lol  I have heard people preach about it
before but I couldn't recognize why so few words and what the meaning of it is...until now.  So, I go on a quest, a Google quest, to see what
sifting wheat means.  There are two powerful meanings that shocked me so that I wanted to share it with you!

The Reason for Sifting Wheat for the Bible:
"Trouble and trials do not equal sifting.  A sifting uses trouble as a catalyst to transform our hearts, refine our character, and draw us
closer to God."
Resource: www.storiesofsifted.com/2012/01/what-is-sifting/

The Reason for Sifting Flour per Baking:
"When a recipe calls for sifting flour together with other ingredients such as cocoa powder, leavening agents or salt-it is to help disperse
those ingredients into one mixture before adding them to a recipe."
Resource: www.bakingbites.com/2013/05/what-does-sifting-flour-do/

WOW!  I'm so excited to write this post that I can hardly contain myself!

I look at the Biblical reason first.  They backed it up with Scripture about the time when Jesus disciple, Peter, denied that he knew Jesus
Christ three times.  Imagine someone is your leader or Pastor, and cares about you, and teaches you everything you
need to know that betters your life. You even rolled with this person, hung out with them, and had the utmost respect for them.
Then imagine you denying that you ever knew them when he needed you the most.  Peter denied that he knew Jesus 3 times!  Pretty shady. :)

But God.

After the load of guilt Peter felt in his heart, he repented.  No one forced him to.  God doesn't force anyone.  Peter changed.  He became
better in character by asking for forgiveness with humility and a pure heart to make it right again.  That changed his character for good!
You can read the denying of Christ by Peter in John 18:15-27

It just goes to show how me may not like the sifting, but it is so necessary in order for us to do what God calls us to do.  It's a necessity for
our lives to become better-more like Christ.  That is the goal.  It's amazing to me how powerful that is!  Because I didn't realize it taking
place in my own life.  But the more I heard this word in my ear, the more I sought God for the answer, the clearer it became.  I have been
shedding layers upon layers of me that I don't need to go into the next dimension God has for me.  I don't need some of the junk that I have been
carrying for years, physically, mentally, or spiritually.

God cares and loves you so much that He won't let you stay the same.  You are meant for better, greater, and faith to faith.  You are meant to
experience increase and abundance.  Our God is an abundant God.  Not just money, but love, joy, a sound mind, and peace.  (2 Timothy 1:7)

Now for the baking reason.  I love this explanation for sifting too.  It just goes to show that God uses ALL ingredients to make an amazing
cake.  God uses ALL parts of your life to make an amazing you-even better!  The sweetness and bitterness of cocoa powder is needed.  The salt is
needed to be salt in the earth.  I actually looked up the definition of leavening agents:
substance causing expansion of doughs and batters by the release of gases within such mixtures, producing baked products with porous structure.
Such agents include air, steam, yeast, baking powder, and baking soda.
Resource: www.britannica.com/leavening-agent

The words that stuck out to me in this definition are "expansion" and "porous."  Which is EXACTLY what's going on with you and me!  If you want
better for you life, you have to expand.  If you want more wisdom and more faith, you have to expand!  You have to be smooth enough to pour.
You have to be well blended, and on the rise, to make this thing work.  We are meant to grow and change-move from faith to faith.  So every
bad relationship you ever encountered may be the gas needed to rise. lol  Every good thing in your life, every boring thing in your life-all
things are working together for your good.

YOUR PROPHETIC WORD...

No matter what situation you are in right now, please keep the faith and know that the layers that you don't need are sifting the way out of your
life.  That is prophetic word right there!  Some of us are being sifted in relationships.  Some of us are being sifted in jobs/careers.  Some of
us are being sifted in our health.  Some of us are being sifted to find purpose.  Don't despise it no matter how bad it may feel, because you are
on your way to God's greatness for your life!

The ultimate goal is to be sifted to know Jesus and a closer relationship with God.  So powerful!
